Meet Nash Overstreet:

Nashville born artist, songwriter and producer.  Nash is a multi-platinum, American Music Award, two-time BMI Pop award winner who had early success with his band Hot Chelle Rae.  The band had hits with major pop songs like “Tonight Tonight,” “I Like It Like That,” and “Honestly,” among others while signed to legendary Sony imprint Jive, and later, RCA records.  The band went on to sell over 7 million singles worldwide.  Nash has toured the world opening for acts like Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato and Justin Bieber as well as headlining tours on every continent in the world in Hot Chelle Rae.  As a songwriter, Nash has co-written songs like Liar for Britney Spears, Woman Up for Meghan Trainor and Angels in Chelsea for Rachel Platten, not to mention writing songs with Mike Posner, Taylor Swift, Gavin Degraw and others.  There have been many artist writers over the years from Ryan Tedder to Pharrell to Mark Ronson and many more – similarly, Nash Overstreet has made his name on both sides of the music business and continues to show dedication in each lane.  Overstreet calls both Los Angeles and Nashville home.  Being born the son of Paul Overstreet, famed Nashville songwriter, Nash’s songwriting pedigree runs deep.  His sensibility for songwriting, and building songs with strong lyric and melody will always be fueled by growing up in the south, surrounded by some of the best songwriters in the world.  The EP is steeped in soul, R&B and pop and channeled his life experiences, from past relationships to nights on the road and the desire for love.  January, 2017 – Nash releases his first solo effort U Don’t Get 2 Do That, along with an EP featuring songs like U Don’t Get 2 Do That, Ride, Brand New Man and Magnetic.  The collection of songs are from the past few years writing in Los Angeles.  U Don’t Get 2 Do That was released to digital platforms January 27, and the global campaign is only getting started while the music video for the single is debuted on Billboard.  “After being in a band for so many years and writing for other artists, it was really difficult to find my sound and who I was as an artist," explains Nash. “Once I'd finished producing the title track of this EP, it became much clearer which songs would be for other artists, and which songs would be for my project.”  The title-track gives fans a glimpse of what to expect on the EP and full-length project to come in the future “ ‘U Don't Get 2 Do That’ was the first song I wrote that I 100% connected to musically and lyrically as an artist,” explains Nash.  “Being about a run-in with an ex, I love that the lyrics can be seen as her perspective, as well as mine. It's all about the rights you lose and give up once you're no longer in a relationship with someone…”  “There are a million different ways I relate to this song, and I'm hoping it connects with listeners the same way.”  Visually, Nash wanted to create a video that expressed the story of the single, while putting his artistic ideas on camera.  So, he partnered with Director Sean Hagwell, and worked with Deirdre Barnes, who he'd met while out on Justin Biebers “Believe” tour, to create a stimulating display of dance, body art, and symbolism.  Nash’s story is only beginning – with tour dates and appearances, future singles and a long-form album release forthcoming, expect to see and hear more in the coming months as both an artist and writer for other arists.  Tuning Nash out is not an option – trust me, you don’t get to do that.  Head over to nashoverstreet.com for more information, and follow @nashoverstreet on Twitter
